it is not time yet to switch to linux: tell them they have to do some work first:

* use my migration disk to cleanup windows installation (any common problems they might have)
* tell them to save their state (backup)
* tell them to transfer to all open-source programs. that way they will:

** learn how to use programs
** see if there are any differences
** see if any functionality is lacking
** see if it can work with their files

* then, inform them of, and clean, all user data like history, cache, temp, etc. transfer meaningful ones to backup and linux format.
* try linux emulation (live cd, virtualization)
* now all they have to switch is windows
