my goals – future house:

  • thermal solar
  • water collection
  • sunroom
  • perennials, trees, bushes garden
  • biofuel, composting

My ideal home:

Rooms:

  • Library
  • Hygiene
  • Utilities
  • Bedroom
  • Guest reception room
  • SOHO room
  • computer/entertainment room
  • exercise
  • electronics lab
  • general lab

Outside:

  • Two-door garage
  • Mechanical shop
  • Greenhouse
  • Garden
  • Trees
  • Uplink/comm
  • canopies

my apartment or house minimum: large rooms needed:

  1. library/paper/writing office
  2. mechanics, labs, electronics, large tables for work
  3. computer/entertainment room (with projector wall and comfortable seating)
  4. sleeping/resting, furniture
  5. exercise
  6. kitchen
  7. storage/empty room

About what will be and what will be not in myHouse:

  • exercise, games, and workshops/garages will be on block/local level, not inside the house
  • the house will have medium size rooms, medium size house, but will contain a lot of storage and hidden area to keep those rooms even cleaner.
  • basement and attic will be fully utilized
  • much larger and organized enter/exit zone
  • non pass-thru kitchen, much more appliances, countertops, sinks, etc
  • sink in the enter/exit zone
  • walk-in closets in every room
  • one guest room
  • number of rooms just exact for a family

future house:

  • no microwave
  • no cellphones
  • raw food
  • small house for usual stuff
  • solar/zero energy/super insulation design
  • under-hill/underground private+panic room with electronic equipment
  • greenhouse
  • garden, trees areas
  • high-pressure/CO2 greenhouse
  • long pool for swimming
  • garage
  • work garage
  • small house for usual stuff. live in the house that is not large or expensive but contains everything in it

  • house heating systems: outside weather station and my thermostat will also tell the internal house heating system when to heat the basement, circulate warm water thru pipes to avoid freezing, or activate pipe warmers and outside heating systems
  • central shaft stairs/elevator/heating/cooling/air movement. like in all-house-fan. fans on the side redistribute the air current on each floor.
  • my future house, myHouse, pi city houses all must have sound insulated restrooms for several reasons (shower, toilet, privacy, talking)
  • Have a huge food pantry. It should be at least as big as a walk-in closet in the kitchen. This is not the room to put the fridge in.
  • Have a fully equipped panic room.
  • Basement height must be high enough for a drop ceiling, because it does not make sense to drill holes in wood or metal supports to route everything that is found in the basement. Instead, sufficient height and a drop ceiling will allow enough space to route all utilities as needed. Have enough space so that even new sewage and hot air cooling ducts can be installed
  • heating solution: warm plastic floors
  • Isolated kitchen for smells to not be distributed
  • myHouse ideas: smoke and fire detector in each room and doors+windows that automatically close (but not lock) during fire to control spread
  • myHouse: use a thermal pump + large reservoir to collect cool temp on summer nights, and warmth on a winter day.

myHouse will have a single room that is fully insulated and can be fully closed and locked for the following applications:

  • entertainment content which can be watched without the whole house being entertained at the same time.
  • Music practices by the children
  • confidential calls
  • adult stuff
  • dressing room
  • rest room if the rest of the house is noisy
  • hobbies

House electrical system:

  • Two voltages: 60V DC and 250 V AC 100/120 Hz
  • 60V DC would be used as a safe voltage to power all consumer electronics and other low-power devices. Safety, elimination of brick power supplies, and very clean quality would make this the best solution for low power.
  • All high power devices would be connected to the high voltage line. It must be routed in metal conduits, all connections including electrical panel, boxes, and outlets must be insulated and hidden (no contact with any part can shock a person), and have mandatory CGFI + Arc fault protection on all circuits. All plugs cannot allow possibility of being not fully engaged and must have positive locking. Ground is mandatory for all connections.

myHouse features:

  • use suspended ceilings and drywall not coming fully up to the hard ceiling or be removable to make possible future modifications or upgrades to the system. this way; wires, new air ducts, etc can be taken off from resources above the suspended ceiling (air ducts and wires) and be passed down behind the drywall and the insulation.
  • use a replaceable roof and siding. fe, in winter a black plastic cover can be applied over the roof to heat it. a reflective one can be put on for summer. same can be done for house siding.
  • all wiring should be done with boxes leading not outlets, not passing thru outlets. boxes would be clearly visible by user behind the suspended ceiling. this way, the boxes are still accessible for code requirements, but any future upgrades are possible. therefore, several lines, including 12, 14 AWG wires, as well as 250V wiring should lead to every room to a box from which upgrades can be made. same can be made for ducts, air and gas lines.
  • also, leave several unused air ducts, such as for every side leading to another room. seal them until needed.

myHouse features

Chimney: a single chimney can be used for a number of non-traditional uses.

  • It can draw hot air outside during the summer
  • it can serve as discharge for vacuum filter, dust filtration system, etc
  • it can supply warm air for exchangers during the winter (recirculate all hot air from the top of the building to its bottom)
  • it can warm up the roof or melt the snow during winter

Do not use a central chimney. Instead, use a three-point system:

  • A relatively low and small chimney, ventilated if necessary
  • A whole-house staircase
  • A whole-house elevator

Also, all houses with roof above 2 stores must use a reinforced support system at central chimney, top edge of roof, and along the perimeter of the roof for human harness support if work on roof or gutters would be required.

Do not use the method of warming a limited amount of water in tank to very high temperature. Instead use local electrical water heaters for sinks, warm water or electric heaters for shower, and built in stage-in-boiler/reheater-in-appliance system for washer

All locations except one in the house are assumed to carry wash-only water. This water can be city- or house- recycled or cleaned/generated

The kitchen will contain at least 3 sinks:

  1. A large sink away from entrance for dishes and general duty. (handwashing and dispenser).
  2. A small and clean sink in the table for washing vegetables/fruit and the like
  3. A small shallow very clean sink for locally- or house-treated water for drinking/filling only, labelled so.
