This user-updateable page will attempt to list all known bad and known good msconfig Startup tab entries:
Known viruses: Suggest one! ALL ENTRIES TO THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:
- C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\ AND ALL SUB-FOLDERS
- C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Local Settings\ AND ALL SUB-FOLDERS
- C:\WINDOWS\ AND ALL SUB-FOLDERS ARE HIGHLY SUSPECT
- C:\
- C:\TEMP\
Known useless (disable them):
- ALL ADOBE ENTRIES (Flash, Reader, etc)
- Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager
- Java(TM) Platform SE Auto Updater
- TomTom HOME
Known good and needed:
- WDDMStatus.exe (WD SmartWare backup)
- NVIDIA NVRAID
- Gadwin PrintScreen
- TrueCrypt
- avast! Antivirus
- PowerPanel Personal Edition
- OpenOffice.org
